I really hate using the word ‘busy’ because I like to take responsibility for my schedule, but… when I fill my schedule (most of the time), grocery shopping (or meals in general), fall further down the list of priorities.
As most of you know if you have been reading my blog, for the past year Rebecca and I have been making some pretty huge changes in our lives. Part of our focus on a more conscious life includes being more disciplined about eating healthy but it also means making more of an effort to eat local and organic in terms of environmental impact. These two objectives align with the online ordering through SPUD.ca we get to do now. It’s very cool, I’ve become a bit of an evangelist, telling everyone about it.
Disclaimer: we are SPUD virgins and personally (believe it or not) I’ve never bought anything online before! So, Rebecca did the first order last week and it was so cool to have the food waiting in bins at the back door that I wanted to try. This week it was my turn.
Tonight I put in my first order. Easy peasy, even for a techno-peasant like me. There is a lot to choose from and I’m guessing as time goes by and I learn my way around the virtual store it will become easier. I just spent 30 min. in bed, in between catching up on emails, and got the grocery shopping done. Time being the commodity that it is – I could get used to this.
The other major benefit that I see at the moment is the fact that in our new house we have very little space to store food. This means those giant trips to Costco are not really feasible so we are forced to eat what we buy and buy smaller quantities more often.
I’m such a fan, I wanted to give one of my followers a $100 gift card and a chance to try SPUD for the first time (or for the 500th time) All you have to do is follow @spuddelivers on Instagram and tag a friend who would like free grocery delivery to be entered to win. You can enter as many times as you want so get going. Easy peasy!
** You must live within the SPUD delivery zones to qualify and be 18 years or older to participate.
